At St. John’s Lutheran Church, our faith is firmly grounded in the teachings of the Bible and centered on the saving grace of Jesus Christ. As a member congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), we are committed to sharing the truth of God’s Word with clarity and compassion.

Who We Are

St. John’s belongs to a larger fellowship of churches within the WELS, a group of congregations united by our shared belief in the Bible as the inspired, inerrant Word of God.

  • The Triune God

We believe in one God, revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This mystery of the Trinity is at the heart of our faith, guiding our worship and daily lives.

  • Salvation Through Jesus Christ

At the center of our belief is the good news of Jesus Christ. We believe that through His life, death, and resurrection, God has declared all sinners “not guilty” of sin (Justification). It is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone in Christ, that we are saved.

  • The Authority of Scripture

The Bible is God’s Word—completely true, reliable, inerrant, infallible, and relevant for all people. It reveals God’s plan of salvation and provides guidance for how we should live as His children. All of our teaching and preaching at St. John’s is rooted in Scripture.

  • The Sacraments

The Bible identifies two sacred acts (sacraments) by which God offers and assures the forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation. They are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. In Holy Baptism, God promises to wash away sin and give the gift of faith in Jesus to sinners of any age, who are baptized with water in the name of the Triune God. In the Lord’s Supper, Jesus gives us his true body and blood in a miraculous fashion, along with bread and wine, promising the forgiveness of sins to all who receive it in faith.
