We’re so glad you’re considering a visit to St. John’s Lutheran Church. Whether you’re new to the area or exploring faith for the first time, we want to make sure you feel welcome and at home. If you are visiting for the first time, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, or ask you to give money. We know many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for awhile—and that’s fine by us! Come in, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and discover God’s love and grace in your life and all that fills it. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Service times

Our worship services take place on Sunday mornings at 8:00am and 10:30am. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to find parking and get settled. Seasonal worship services are held during Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, and Thanksgiving. Check the church calendar for the current schedule of worship opportunities.

  • Parking and entrance

We have ample parking available in our church lot or surrounding streets. Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by friendly volunteers who can guide you to the sanctuary or answer any questions you have.

  • Worship style

Our services offer a liturgical format with hymns, scripture readings, and a message from the pastor. This worship format directs our focus on Jesus and his redeeming work on behalf of all sinners. If you’re unfamiliar with our worship style, don’t worry—everything you need to participate will be provided in the service bulletin or displayed on our screens. Feel free to participate as you feel comfortable.

  • What to wear

Come as you are! There’s no dress code at St. John’s. You’ll see a range of attire—from casual to “Sunday best.”

  • Children in worship

Jesus welcomes little children, and so do we! We love having families worship with us, and we encourage you to bring your children to worship services, noise, mess, and all. Activity bags are available to help them stay engaged. Occasionally, we also offer a children’s lesson during the service, where little ones can hear a message tailored just for them. A quiet room is available if needed.

  • Our school

We’re proud to be the home of St. John’s Lutheran School, a Christ-centered education option for families with children in Pre-K through 8th grade. Our school offers a caring, academically strong environment where children grow in both knowledge and faith.

If you're visiting us for worship, you might notice students singing during special services or participating in church events — we love incorporating our school family into our church life.

Whether you're exploring schooling options or simply curious about how our school fits into our mission, we invite you to learn more!

  • Communion at St. John’s

Guided by Scripture, St. John’s practices “close” communion, meaning that we invite to the Lord’s Supper those who share our confession of faith. If you are visiting and interested in receiving communion, please speak with our pastor beforehand to discuss what it means to join us in this sacred meal. We are happy to answer any questions you have and talk about a path to taking the Lord’s Supper at St. John’s.

  • Offerings and giving

At St. John’s, we believe that giving is a response to God’s love and generosity. While offerings are taken during the service, they are completely voluntary. If you’re visiting, please don’t feel obligated to give. Our members and regular attenders give to express their love of God and support the ministry of the church. All gifts go directly toward sharing the gospel in our community and throughout the world. There are also opportunities to support the needs of those in our community. If you’d like to learn more about ways to give, please visit our Giving page.

  • After the service

We invite you to stick around after the service to meet some of the other worshipers and enjoy fellowship time. This is a great opportunity to connect with others, ask questions, and learn more about our church. We would love to get to know you!
